Nice to be cord free, January 24, 2009 By
This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-78 Smart Stick Plus Cordless Rechargeable Handheld Blender (Kitchen)
I have had the Cuisinart plug in hand blender, but wanted to go cordless. I finally broke down and got this one. It is nice to be cord free, but it is pretty heavy, and big for my hands. It does blend well. The other thing I do not like, is that when you charge the base, it does not give you a green light that it is charged. That would be helpful. It is also very easy to charge, because the handle has a plug built right into it, no separate base. I really like the small mixer bowl attachment that came with it as well. I have used it more than I expected. 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful:

This is a wonderfully powerful hand blender. It is LARGE. People with small hands might want hold one first before making an online purchase. I am not delighted with nicad batteries since they are fussy about being discharged before being recharged, but maybe they are necessary due to the large current draw of the motor. This is ideal for pureed soups. No more 10 trips to the blender with hot soup dribbling all over the counter or burning my hands. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful:

I aso have an earlier version of this hand blender and have always loved its usability and effectiveness. Very impressed with this later model – love the extras – whisk and chopper attachments are really excellent – a true multi-tasking “Wizzk kid”. Easy to use, easily stowable, space saving. Love it. So easy to use even I can do it. I make ‘casserol’-type stuff and blend the liquids, dairy, eggs and stuff with this first always resulting in smoother textured and tasting dish! I just bought this and have only had it now for a couple of weeks. It works well and does what it is intended to do. I only have one little nit picky thing to say about it, and I know this sounds silly…but the cord is black and i wish it was white. This is minor and has nothing to do with how the piece functions, but I also bought the electric cookie press at the same time I bought the blender and the power cord on it is white. I do think that this goes better with the pink and don’t quite understand why the company would attach a black cord to this item. |

I love this thing!!!, November 24, 2010 This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-76TQ Smart Stick Hand Blender, Turquoise (Kitchen)
I got one of these as a gift recently. I have since used it as an excuse to blend EVERYTHING! I have made several batches of soups and gravy’s with this, including lentil and potato soup. its quiet, surprisingly light, and absolutely effective. I haven’t tried blending anything frozen with it, yet. The metal shaft makes for super easy clean up. the thing seems really durable. Generally I’m a Kitchenaid groupy, however their comparable stick has crappy reviews, and parts problems. Cuisinart does make a lot of really quality machines, and since its a a good brand you can buy replacement blades and such for it. I never buy anything I cant buy replacement parts for, due to extreme blend a thons those blades wont last forever, but you hope the motors will! I love it so much I’m buying one for my mother! great tool, December 31, 2010 By

I suppose if you look at the spectrum of “turquoise” this fits. However, I would say it leans toward the green side-almost minty but not quite. If you think for a minute this will work with the Kitchen Aid Aqua keep looking. Otherwise the product is perfectly fine. Since this will not be sitting out on my counter and it does the job I decided to keep it. |

Cool Kitchen Gadget!!, June 19, 2006 By

This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachments (Kitchen)
I purchased this product mainly for making soups. I hated having to put soup into the blender in bathces to puree it. Not only was this time consuming but I usually made a huge mess in the process. Well this product solved that problem for me. I made a soup the other day and used this product to blend the soup right in the pot! While I was nervous about “only” being able to run the blender continuously for 50 seconds, I learned that 50 seconds is more than enough time for this item to blend a whole pot of soup, in fact it only took about 15-20 seconds. I have also used the grinder attachment to mince fresh parsley, and have also made a smoothie using the included measuring cup and blender. Although the manual states that you cannot run this product for more than a certain amount of time (depending on the function), I have learned that this product can accomplish those tasks easily in the time frames given (it took 5 seconds to mince my parsley!). I cannot comment on the warranty as I have not had a problem with this item, but for the price if it fails I would most likely just buy a new one. My only complaint would be that the whisk attachment seems very flimsy, but I have not actually used the whisk attachment yet, so I assume that it will work just fine for light tasks such as whisking egg whites. Although based on the feel of it I would not use it for much else. However, I have a feeling that I am going to continue to find uses for this wonderful little gadget. For the price this item is a great buy. 90 of 95 people found the following review helpful:

I would like to give it no stars but that’s an option on Amazon rating. Bought in May (but only used about 4 times since then as we were away for a long summer). Used to blend tinned tomatoes. Worked fine couple of times then blades in blender, chopper and whisk turned very slowly and seemed to squeal when motor ran. Called up Cuisinart and they sent me a new kit. Same thing happened. So I called again and they sent me chopper lid and whisk attachment (only blender had worked in new kit). Now I’ve the handstick that works very well (for how long though?), chopper grinder doesn’t work at all and neither does whisk. I looked inside the motor shaft and these “stripped teeth” everyone in the one-star category keeps on about are also looking that way in mine (I hadn’t looked in the original one I sent back). Unfortunately I hadn’t read the bad reviews before I bought it, and it seems that this “teeth stripping” is a continual problem with most of their hand sticks. I’ve already spent between sending it back the first time and then receiving the new parts….I’d like to ask for a total refund for the now + I’ve spent on it but I think such a request is futile. 48 of 50 people found the following review helpful:

I don’t know about the warranty stuff, and I’ve only had this a week or so, but I love it. I always hated ladling chunky soup into the blender, thence into another bowl while I did further batches, making a mess at every stage. With this I did a big bowl of soup, put the hand blender into it and in maybe 15 seconds it was perfectly pureed. Moreover, a note in the manual led me to using it every morning to froth the almond milk I use in my latte, at which it does a fantastic job–again, 15 seconds or so and way better than you get at Starbucks (though a good barrista can still do a better job with steam). Terrific. |

Well ok, maybe I am not all shook up so much as BLENDED up. I purchased this immersion blender after my older no name brand unit purchased at Wally World died in the middle of blending a pot of hot soup. I like that you can wash the blenders blade assembly in the dishwasher and the stainless steel shaft is not stained like so many of the ALL PLASTIC models. Another thing I love is the power of the unit and the sharpness of the blades; they will reduce a pot of cream of broccoli soup to a smooth consistency in nothing flat. Oh and when I say broccoli soup folks, I MEAN broccoli soup. I put nearly two bunches of steamed broccoli in my soup and I only chunk it prior to blending with the immersion blender. This blender will puree` the soup to a perfect creamy texture in nothing flat. (Reserve a few pieces of the chunked broccoli to add back to the soup for texture purposes) I have also used it on my potato and asparagus soups with equally great results. If you are looking for an immersion blender with lots of power and a “NO STAIN” Stainless Steel shaft then IMO, you cannot go wrong with this model from Cusinart. Happy Blending! This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. quick, clean, fast, and tough, December 10, 2003 By A Customer
This review is from: KitchenAid KHB300ER Hand Blender, Empire Red (Kitchen)
After tearing through 2 stick blenders in 6 years, I tried this one — and let me tell you — the KitchenAid takes the prize. The motor (the highest powered I found on the market) is tough enough for batters and heavy mixing, and still with the multiple speeds and whisk attachment, is light-handed enough for making fast work of whipping cream, and egg whites. The chopper is worth the upgrade from the stick alone as it will do everything the old counter-top hogging food processors ever dreamed of doing, but with half the clean up time. It also makes it easy for chopping just enough for one or two servings without breaking out the heavy hardware. Unless you use a mixer for tons of cookie dough or to knead bread (in which case you want the biggest and toughest counter-top kitchenAid stand mixer you can afford…) then this is the best I’ve seen. Stick this blender down into a bubbling hot soup pot full of veggies, beans and meat — it will puree the whole pot into a smoothe and beautiful soup in a matter of 2-3 minutes. A great product (and a great gift.) 141 of 143 people found the following review helpful:

I learned a long time ago, if you go KitchenAid, you go for life. They make the highest quality, longest life products I have ever seen. This hand mixer is the third of its kind I’ve owned. I’ve had two of the Braun models and they died out after about a year of average use. I finally got the KitchenAid and it has been going strong for a few years now. I really like having the ability to go down to the bottom of a large pot, a full 8″. Even though it is of substantial weight, it fits your hand like a glove. I found it far superior to the Braun, as a matter of fact, it doesn’t even compare. The plastic cup with lid makes an excellent accessory since you can mix and store without wasting time. The chopper is the most efficient I have seen, does a better job that a food processor. I especially like the multi-speed dial. It goes from 1 to 9 so it has the power you need, when you need it. Egg white or whip cream doesn’t even challenge it, the whipping attachment makes sure of that. This baby handles like a pro. There are times when you don’t need the big mixer and the immersion blender really fills in nicely. You won’t be disappointed with the quality, power or its sleek look. 106 of 107 people found the following review helpful:
The right tool for the job, February 15, 2007 By

This review is from: KitchenAid KHB300WH Hand Blender, White (Kitchen)
I’m at a point in my life where I am developing a taste for quality, and can finally afford the kind of quality I desire. I like to dabble in the kitchen, so I’ve been building my arsenal of kitchenware recently. I’ve invested in some high-quality cookware and utensils, and started working on some appliances. I’ve got an 11-cup Cuisinart food processor, but that tends to be overkill for a lot of smaller jobs – I hate all the cleanup involved with making a cup of guacamole dip, for instance. I like to use peeled whole tomatoes to make tomato sauce for pasta dishes, but my wife doesn’t care for chunks of tomato in the finished sauce. No problem… I just dunk the stick blender right into the can of tomatoes and out comes a nice thick puree with all the rich flavor that pre-made sauces seem to lack. This stick blender came highly recommended by an acquaintance, and it doesn’t disappoint. With its high-power motor, variable speed settings and versatile accessories, this is a compact and high-impact kitchen tool. Easy to clean, too. I would urge caution if you’ve never used one of these before, especially when working with very watery liquids as they can end up getting blown right out of your container if you’re not careful. |

Great, but no “ON” button, just “pulse”, November 23, 2007 This review is from: KitchenAid KHB100ER Hand Blender, Empire Red (Kitchen)
I love handblenders. I have this one and its attachments, and I use it pretty regularly. I have two complaints: 1) the powercord is thick, cumbersome, and hard to keep out of one’s way. I had a cordless unit from a different manufacturer before, and I must say–the extra power here is nice, but I’m not 100% convinced the hassle of the cord is really worth that extra umph very often. 2) and here’s the kicker–there’s no actual “on” switch. You’ve got to hold it on the whole time. I really wanted to give one to my mom for Xmas, but she simply doesn’t have the hand-strength any longer to make use of this unit. It takes me two hands to keep it held “on,” and my hands cramp up when I’ve got something that I need to blend for a sustained amount of time. That said, this is a lovely unit (I adore the red color), and I get lots of use out of it. I just would have liked a chance to think about those two issues before I bought it (about a year ago), and certainly before I gave it for a gift. 24 of 24 people found the following review helpful:
Unsanitary – eventually may cause food poisoning, January 22, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: KitchenAid KHB100ER Hand Blender, Empire Red (Kitchen)
I bought this to replace a Braun I had for 15 + years. This was to replace the cheap Braun on which the motor finally gave out after thousands of uses. I have the most expensive Braun and it is the best ever made, however Braun has stopped making hand blenders all together (I wrote to Braun and that is what they told me). I have always thought kitchen aid to be a great product and in the past they were, until they sold out to Westinghouse. The blender works well, although the slowest speed is higher than medium speed on my Braun. The problem is the seal on the bottom of the mixing shaft under the blade. There is a rubber gasket or sealer that does not seal, but traps blended food under it. After a through washing and allowing it to stand and dry the food particles leak out and dry. I used mine daily, week days at work, to make a whole food/protein shake. Each day I washed it thoroughly and dried it. The next day I would take it to make my shake and note that particles of yesterdays shake had seeped out from under the rubber seal. I tried cleaning under the seal on the outside only to discover that the problem also appears to be in the center next to the shaft where it is impossible to clean. I could actually see food trapped half under the rubber seal and there is no way to clean it out. My shakes are green in color and I can see the green, gradually turn to brown, on the outer edge of the rubber seal and again whole food trapped under the center. Amazon has been great about returning products that are defective and has assured me that they will get me a full refund for this product. My problem now is finding a quality hand blender equal to the top of the line Braun to replace this KA. If i can see the very bottom where the blade and seal are it would make the purchase easier. Braun put a stainless steel plate with an O ring in the center and what appears to be a durable sealant on the base. That is how you make a quality product, not the way kitchen aid made this product. If they would fix this problem, the rest of the blender has worked fine 5 days a week for 4 months. 72 of 82 people found the following review helpful:

I had one of these that had a battery and the recharger hung on the wall with its attachments. I loved it, it was light and convenient. It finally broke and they don’t make them that way anymore. This whips up a storm, its detachable head cleans perfectly in the dishwasher with no fuss. It has tremendous power and its design sucks the food into the blade and a circular motion is set up for efficient blending. It does not whip cream, you need a whisk or beater for that. Instead it would turn cream to butter. It is kind of heavy but stands up on its own without tipping over. The beaker is the perfect container. It is kind of tall and the cord has so much memory that it takes up too much space on the shelf over my sink where I keep it. There is no safety. At all. If it were plugged in and you accidently hit the switch while your finger were in the blade, they would be chopped up. Because of this, it should never be stored plugged in. But overall, I do like it and I use it often. If I had small children, I would not have this in the house. And if I were teaching a child to cook, I would never, ever use it. |

quick, clean, fast, and tough, December 10, 2003 By A Customer
